As a fully qualified and professional audiologist, Claire Armitage will undertake a free hearing test, including an auroscopic ear examination and a diagnostic hearing assessment, and using her independent professional judgement and expert opinion she can then discuss all the suitable options with you.
If you think you may be having difficulties with your hearing abilities, or you want the health of your ears checking just to put your mind at rest, Claire will conduct a thorough and in-depth auroscopic ear examination to check for any signs of damage, infection or blockages. She will then carry out an advanced hearing assessment known as Audiometry. You will be given a set of headphones and played a series of sounds in differing frequencies. Your responses to these sounds will be recorded and the results are shown in the form of a graph to illustrate your type and degree of hearing loss.
Claire will also ask you a series of questions to get a better understanding of your lifestyle, including your working environment, home and social life. This way, at the end of your hearing test she will be able to discuss all the available options and recommend the most suitable assistive listening or hearing aid devices to enhance your hearing abilities.
